Serum vs Oil

Serum Vs. Oil

What's The Difference Between Serums and Oils? Do You Need Both?

Serum Vs. Oil

What’s The Difference?

Do You Need Both?

The short answer is no, not necessarily for your regular routine. BUT we do think you should always have both on hand. You can absolutely layer your serums and one of our many oils, but you can also use our each for specific purposes.

*Do you think this article isn’t for you because you have oily skin? Don’t worry, oil will combat oil as your skin has just been working extra hard to produce the natural oils it's been stripped of!*

B3+HA Facial Serum

Let's start with what our Facial Serum contains, what it does, and how often to use it. This product's full name is B3+HA Facial Serum, B3 is also known as Niacinamide, and HA is Hyaluronic Acid.

B3 is a stable vitamin that helps hydrate your skin, treat any hyperpigmentation, decrease redness and blotchiness, promotes skin elasticity, and acts as an antioxidant which fights free radicals. HA is going to reduce your fine lines and wrinkles by creating a plumping effect. When your skin isn't working extra to rehydrate your skin, it is able to spend its time increasing cell production which will lead to smoother, plumper skin cells. Aloe is our third super star ingredient in our serum. It contains enzymes, Vitamins A and C, antioxidants, and is extremely anti-inflammatory. You can find some relief with burns, blemishes, and dry skin with this amazing serum. It is perfectly calming and hydrating for all skin types, especially sensitive skin!

Overall, this serum is going to soften, smooth, and bring balance to skin tone and texture. Your face will feel so hydrated, plump and fresh. We recommend using this morning and night, daily. A little goes a long way, so start with 1-2 pumps and pat this into your face and neck after cleansing and toning, before you moisturize.

We also have 3 NEW serums that we have added into our line up recently!

Smooth & Silky Argireline Facial Serum

This is a staff favorite! This powerhouse antioxidant formula made with peptides protects skin from environmental stressors, hydrates and moisturizes skin, plumps and hydrates dry and dull skin, effectively reducing fine lines and wrinkles. It will help firm up any saggy skin and reconstructs the skin protection barrier. It's a staff fave for a reason, it does it all!

Argireline also promotes collagen production and optimizes the function of collagen, which both fight fine lines and improve moisture levels in the skin. This superstar skin formula is the perfect thing to mix into any anti-aging skincare routine. Peptides are good for people who are interested in decreasing fine lines and wrinkles, decreasing inflammation and making the skin look firmer.

Fade Away Peptide Serum

This amazing facial serum is formulated to boost your anti-aging efforts. With a perfect balance of brightening and lightening, your skin will look and feel smoother. Loaded with Hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C to boost hydration and antioxidants on your skin. This serum will help fade dark spots left from aging, sun exposure, and acne scars.

REFRESH Botanical Collagen Serum

Plant-based collagen is found naturally in fruits, vegetables, or other plant by- products. Our Botanical Collagen Facial Serum is a complex and perfect elixir of 13 plant extracts. This blend helps promote the production of skin collagen, thickening the skin's stratum corneum (outer layer of your epidermis) while reducing skin redness and moisturizing skin deeply and retaining moisture longer. Vegan Collagen is definitely becoming more and more popular, with plant-based antioxidants, flavonoids, polyphenols, anthocyanins, and vitamins. Essentially, it provides the skin with the right building blocks and support, so that it can produce its own collagen. This is another staff favorite, the results are so incredible you have to try it for yourself.

So now what about oils?

At Bella GLOW, this is where it all began. Annabell started with our Sport Max Natural Deodorant, then followed with tons of essential oils before branching out to full skincare. The first oil blend she created was used to treat her mastectomy scars (If you haven't read Annabell's story of how our company was created, you have got to check it out), and let us tell you IT WORKS.

Liquid Gold Facial Oil

Here she is! Liquid Gold. We offer this 60 mL bottle in Unscented and Original (naturally scented with Bulgarian Lavender, Frankincense, and Geranium). The name truly says it all as this oil is great for face and body scars, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, liver spots, you name it. This blend is made up of just 4 pressed oils; Vitamin E, Carrot Seed, Raspberry Seed, and Argan Oil. You can apply a dime sized amount of this blend both morning and night (after cleaning and toning, before moisturizing) to your face and neck. If you are using this for stretch marks or scars, apply a small amount directly to the area you are treating.

Pure Vitamin E Oil

This product is 100% PURE Vitamin E Oil. That’s it. No other additives, fragrances, or fillers. Vitamin E can be used on all your hyper-pigmented spots and stretch marks, your hair, your cuticles Vitamin E oil is both a nutrient and antioxidant, and the oil in its purest form is extremely versatile. Known as tocopherol, it is used in many skincare products. Its anti-aging capabilities are beautiful as well.

 Carrot Seed Oil

Carrot seed oil hydrates and soothes dry skin and is gentle enough for use on psoriasis, eczema and ulcers. This beautiful, orange, earthy oil is a gem among oils. Used as a carrier for essential oils, or on its own, you'll enjoy the many benefits of this 100% cold pressed, unrefined, organic carrot seed oil.

Raspberry Seed Oil

Our 100% pure raspberry seed oil is virgin, unrefined, cold pressed, undiluted with no added ingredients. Tested for purity with every batch and safe for all skin types. A highly moisturizing oil that contains omega-6 and essential fatty acids, that can be used in a variety of cosmetics and is a great addition for keeping skin healthy.

Overall, we would recommend using either your Facial Serum day and night, and using oils to treat when needed. If you wish to prevent anything our oils treat, you can replace your Facial Serum with an oil, or use one in the morning and the other at night, or both if you really want to! We support it all and we do it too.
